Croston Art Fair returns for a second year

Following the success of last year’s event, the Community Art Fair returns to Croston Old School for its second year on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2026, bringing together a wonderful collection of artists, makers and creative talent.

Open from 10am until 4pm on both days, the Art Fair is an opportunity to enjoy an inspiring selection of original artwork, meet some of the artists behind it and perhaps take home a special piece of art for yourself.

A Celebration of Local Creativity

This year we are delighted to welcome an exciting group of artists, including Ian Grime, Ann Bold, Simon Nisbet, Rob Edmundson, Caroline Mooney, Tina Cooper and David Jenkins, Winston Highfield and Zak Last plus a number of others still to confirm.

Each artist is a specialist in their own right, so visitors can expect to see a fantastic variety of styles, subjects and techniques. Works on display will include pen and ink, watercolour, pastels and mixed media, making this a lovely opportunity to discover just how varied and individual the world of art can be.

Pictures will be available to buy throughout the weekend, whether you are an established art collector, looking for something new for your home or simply fall in love with a piece while you are visiting.

A New Artist Joins the Exhibition!

This year is going to be particularly special for me (Catherine), as I will be displaying some of my own work for the first time.

Having recently started painting, taking the step from creating something for my own enjoyment to actually putting my work on display feels both exciting and a little daunting! One of the things I love about this event is that it celebrates creativity in all its forms – from experienced and established artists to those of us who are only just beginning our artistic journey.

I’m really looking forward to sharing some of my paintings alongside the work of such talented artists.

Something for Our Younger Artists Too

We want the weekend to be welcoming and enjoyable for the whole family, so our younger visitors will have an opportunity to become part of the exhibition themselves.

There will be a large community canvas for children to add their own artwork to throughout the weekend. By the end of Sunday, we hope to have created one colourful collaborative piece filled with the imagination and creativity of all the children who have visited us.

Art, Crafts... and Cake!

Alongside the paintings and artwork, there will also be additional art and craft exhibits, plus our very own framing service giving visitors even more to discover.

And, of course, no community event would be complete without refreshments!

Teas, coffees and cakes will be served throughout the weekend in the South Wing, so you can take your time, enjoy the exhibition, have a chat and relax over a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Whether you are passionate about art, looking for an original picture for your home, interested in discovering local creative talent or simply fancy an enjoyable day out, there really will be something for everyone.
