🌿 Meet Our Growers: A Glimpse into Lyndene’s Seasonal Beauty

At Feather and Twigs, we’ve always believed in celebrating the makers and growers behind the scenes—the hands that nurture, the minds that dream, and the hearts that care. One of those quiet cornerstones is Lyndene, a traditional market garden nestled in Tarleton, Lancashire. Their ethos? Keep it seasonal. Keep it local. Keep it grounded. And we love them for it.

Lyndene supplies us with fresh flowers on an ad-hoc basis, depending on the season’s rhythm and the glasshouse glow. They’re not florists, nor are they solely flower-growers—think of them instead as thoughtful cultivators of beauty and nourishment alike.

🌸 In Bloom for 2025
This year’s flower crops are a joyful ode to classic favourites and charming curiosities. Expect:

Scented stocks and sweet peas

Strawflower (Helichrysum bracteatum) with its papery brilliance

Whimsical zinnias and characterful chrysanthemums

From late May through to October, there’s a glorious patchwork of cottage garden delights, florist staples and some pleasantly surprising blooms—each one handpicked with love.

🌹 Looking Ahead: A Perennial Dream

Lyndene is just beginning to cultivate a perennial space that promises even more magic. Roses, umbellifers, and more unusual wonders like passion flower, snail vine and papyrus are now stretching their roots—some in the open air, others under protective glass.

It’s all part of their mission: to respond to what local florists need, and to remain ever curious and experimental (snail vine was a whimsical leap, and it’s thriving!).

🌾 Beyond the Bouquet
There’s more than flowers blooming at Lyndene. Alongside woodland ivy, honeysuckle, and textured grasses, you’ll find:

  • Watermelon, spring greens, and chard
  • Plump tomatoes and several varieties of squash
  • Watercress, sprouts, and other delicious ‘bits and bobs’

If you're lucky, your flowers might just come with a side of something leafy and edible too.

At Feather and Twigs, we’re proud to work with growers like Lyndene, whose care for land, community and creativity shines through in every stem and sprout. Seasonal, local, and beautifully unexpected—that’s the Lyndene way.

Enough With the Beige: Colour Is Not Just for the Young

June 09, 2026

Somewhere along the way, women were sold a quiet lie: tone it down as you get older. Choose beige. Stick to black. Don’t draw attention. Blend in gracefully.

No thank you.

At Feather and Twigs, we believe ageing is not a cue to fade into the background—it’s permission to turn the volume up. Style is not something you age out of. Confidence doesn’t retire at 50. And colour? Colour is not childish, desperate or inappropriate. Colour is...

Father's Day Gifts - For the Dad who never asks for anything
Father's Day Gifts - For the Dad who never asks for anything

May 20, 2026

There’s always one, isn’t there?

The dad who insists he doesn’t need a thing.
Who shrugs when you ask what he’d like.
Who quietly fixes, carries, makes, and mends… and asks for nothing in return.

And yet — those are often the dads we want to get right the most.

This Father’s Day, instead of searching for more, we’re choosing meaning. Slower, quieter, more thoughtful gifts that feel like him. The kind that don’t shout, but stay.
